Website development

Website development for businesses that need the site to actually earn.

We build fast, search-ready websites by hand — not by stacking page-builder plugins on a bought theme. You get a written scope, a fixed price, and a site your team can run without calling a developer every week.

Serving businesses across India and clients in the US, UK, UAE, Australia and Canada. First reply within one working hour.

Website development at a glance

What it is
Design and development of a custom business website — planning, design, front-end build, CMS setup, on-page SEO, analytics and launch.
Who it suits
Businesses with no website, businesses replacing a slow or dated site, and companies whose site gets traffic but produces very few enquiries.
Typical timeline
2–3 weeks for a 5–10 page business website. 4–8 weeks for larger, multi-language or heavily integrated builds.
Built with
Hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the front end. WordPress when the team needs to edit content daily; Next.js or Astro when speed and scale matter most.
Performance target
Lighthouse mobile performance score of 90 or above, LCP under 2.5s, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms — measured on a mid-range Android over 4G, not on a desktop.
Always included
Responsive design, cross-browser testing, on-page SEO setup, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, contact forms with spam protection, a CMS walkthrough recording, and 30 days of post-launch support.
Pricing model
Fixed price against a written scope. No packages and no hourly billing, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Ownership
You own the design, the code, the domain and every account. We hand over all credentials at launch.
Where we work
India nationwide, plus clients in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Australia and Canada. Calls in IST, GMT or EST. Invoicing in INR, USD, GBP or AED.

Four situations we get called for.

If one of these sounds like your business, the rest of this page is written for you.

01

No website yet

You are selling through WhatsApp, Instagram or a marketplace and buyers keep asking for a website before they trust you with a bigger order.

02

Slow and dated

The site was built years ago, takes six seconds to load on mobile, and every small change means paying someone or breaking something.

03

Traffic but no enquiries

People arrive and leave. Nothing tells them what you do, who you do it for, or what to do next — so they go back to Google.

04

Need a reliable offshore team

You are overseas, you have been burned by a cheap developer who vanished, and you want written scopes and someone who answers on your clock.

What a website development project includes.

Every item below is in the scope document before work starts. Nothing on this list is an upsell later.

Design that is yours

Layouts drawn for your business, your products and your buyers. We do not buy a theme and swap the logo, so your site will not look like four competitors.

Hand-built responsive front end

Tested on real phones, tablets and desktops — not just resized in a browser. Layouts hold up on a 360px Android as well as a 27-inch monitor.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Images converted to WebP or AVIF, fonts subset and preloaded, JavaScript kept under a budget, and caching configured at the server.

On-page SEO foundation

Clean URL structure, one H1 per page, title and meta templates, schema markup, XML sitemap, robots rules, canonical tags and internal linking.

A CMS your team can use

Editing screens labelled in plain language, with only the fields you need. Plus a recorded walkthrough so a new hire can pick it up without us.

Forms, tracking and integrations

Enquiry forms with spam protection, WhatsApp and call buttons, GA4 and Search Console, conversion events, and CRM or Google Sheets connections where needed.

Accessibility and browser testing

Keyboard navigation, sensible colour contrast, alt text and labelled forms — checked across Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge before launch.

Handover and 30 days support

All logins, source files, hosting notes and documentation transferred to you, plus a month of fixes and small changes after go-live at no extra cost.

Security and backups

SSL, hardened admin access, automated daily backups and an update routine handed over in writing so the site does not rot after six months.

How the build runs, week by week.

Five stages. You approve each one before the next begins, so there are no surprises at the end and no invoice for work you did not agree to.

  1. 01

    Discovery and written scope

A call about the business, the customer and what the site has to achieve. You receive a document listing every page, every feature, the timeline and the fixed price. If you do not go ahead, the document is still yours.

    2–4 days
  2. 02

    Sitemap, wireframes and content plan

Page structure mapped against the keywords your buyers actually search, so the site is organised around demand rather than around your org chart. You see grey-box layouts before anyone picks a colour.

    3–5 days
  3. 03

    Design

Full designs for the key templates, on desktop and mobile. Two rounds of revisions are included, tracked in one shared document so nothing gets lost across WhatsApp threads.

    5–8 days
  4. 04

    Build on staging

The site goes up on a private staging link you can click through daily. Content loaded, forms wired, tracking installed, speed tuned, and tested on real devices.

    5–12 days
  5. 05

    Launch and 30 days support

Go live with redirects mapped from the old URLs, Search Console and GA4 verified, and a recorded walkthrough of the CMS. For the next month, fixes and small changes are covered.

    1–2 days, then ongoing

Custom build versus a page-builder theme.

A page-builder site is cheaper on day one. Here is what usually changes by month twelve.

Comparison based on the rebuilds we are asked to do most often.

What changesBought theme + page builderHand-built by SEO Lands
Page weight Often 3–6 MB, because the theme loads every feature whether you use it or not. Usually under 800 KB, because only what the page needs is shipped.
Mobile speed Lighthouse scores commonly land in the 30–55 range on mobile. 90 or above on mobile, verified before we hand over.
Plugin dependency 20–40 plugins. One bad update can take the site down. Typically under 8, each one chosen and documented.
SEO control Heading order and markup are decided by the theme, not by you. Full control of headings, schema, URLs and internal links.
Design Thousands of other businesses bought the same layout. Drawn for your business, so it is yours alone.
Cost to change later Low at first, then rising as workarounds pile up. Higher at first, then flat — the structure holds.

To be fair about it: if you need a simple three-page site live next week on the smallest possible budget, a good page-builder build is the sensible choice, and we will tell you so on the call rather than sell you something bigger.

What decides the price.

We do not publish packages, because a five-page brochure site and a 40-page multi-language site are not the same job and a fixed package would overcharge one and short-change the other. These are the six things that move the number.

  • How many unique page templates the site needs — ten pages built from three templates costs far less than ten pages each designed on their own.
  • Whether the design is drawn from scratch or adapted from an existing brand system you already own.
  • How much the client team needs to edit after launch, which decides how much CMS work goes into the build.
  • Integrations — payment gateways, CRMs, booking systems, ERP feeds and anything with an API on the other side.
  • Whether you supply copy and photography, or we write and shoot it as part of the project.
  • Languages and regions, since each additional language adds content, hreflang setup and testing.

Send a short brief and you get a written scope with a fixed price against it, usually within one working day. Reviewing it costs nothing and there is no obligation to proceed.

Straight answers to the things people ask first.

How long does it take to develop a website?

A 5–10 page business website takes two to three weeks from the day the design is approved. Larger builds with custom functionality, several languages or heavy integrations run four to eight weeks. The scope document commits to specific dates before work starts.

What does website development cost in India?

Prices in the Indian market range widely because the term covers everything from a template swap to a bespoke application. What matters more than the headline number is what is inside the scope: page templates, CMS work, integrations, content and post-launch support. We quote a fixed price per written scope so the comparison is like-for-like.

Is a custom website better than WordPress?

They are not opposites. WordPress is a content management system and can be part of a fully custom build. The real question is whether your front end is hand-built or assembled from a bought theme and a page builder, because that is what decides speed, SEO control and how much the site costs to change in year two.

Will a new website improve Google rankings?

A rebuild fixes the technical layer — speed, structure, crawlability, mobile usability — and that removes what is holding rankings back. It does not by itself create rankings, which come from content matched to search intent and from links. A clean build makes SEO work faster and cheaper; it is not a substitute for it.

Can you rebuild a website without losing existing rankings?

Yes, provided the migration is planned. We map every old URL to its new destination with 301 redirects, keep the page titles and content that already rank, submit an updated sitemap, and watch Search Console for four weeks after launch to catch anything that slips.

Frequently asked questions.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. A significant share of our website development work is for clients in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Australia and Canada. We hold calls inside your working hours, write scopes and updates down so time-zone gaps do not slow the project, and invoice in USD, GBP or AED.

Who owns the website and the code when the project ends?

You do — the design, the code, the domain, the hosting account and every third-party account we set up. At launch we transfer all credentials and provide the source files and documentation. Nothing is held back to keep you tied to us.

Can you redesign my existing website instead of starting over?

Often, yes. We start with an audit that says honestly whether repairing what you have or rebuilding will cost less over the next twelve months, and we send that answer either way. If a repair is the right call, we will say so even though the rebuild is the bigger project for us.

Will the website work properly on mobile?

Mobile is where we start, not where we finish. Layouts are designed for a 360-pixel screen first and then expanded, and we test on physical Android and iOS devices before launch rather than only resizing a desktop browser. Most Indian traffic arrives on a mid-range Android over 4G, so that is the device we measure against.

Do you write the content and provide images?

We can. Copywriting, product photography and video are handled in-house and can be included in the scope, or you can supply your own and we will build around it. What we will not do is launch a site full of placeholder text — if content is not ready, we agree a plan for it during the scoping stage.

What happens if something breaks after launch?

The first 30 days after go-live include fixes and small changes at no extra cost. After that you can take an optional monthly maintenance plan for updates, backups, security monitoring and content changes, or handle it in-house using the documentation we hand over. There is no obligation either way.

Do you sign an NDA before we share details?

Yes, before we see anything confidential. Send us yours or we will send ours.

How do payments work?

Website development projects are split into milestones tied to the stages in the scope — typically an advance to begin, a payment at design approval, and the balance at launch. Indian clients pay by UPI or bank transfer with a GST invoice; overseas clients pay by international transfer or card in USD, GBP or AED.

Tell us what the site has to do.

A few lines about what you sell and who buys it is enough. You get back questions, a realistic timeline and a fixed price for that exact scope — usually within one working day, and always within one working hour for the first reply.
